Commander's Welcome

The South Bend Sail & Power Squadron welcomes you and thanks you for visiting us. The South Bend Sail and Power Squadron has enjoyed almost 50 years of community service, continuing education and friendship. We are a fraternal organization and are a part of the national United States Power Squadrons. As we all share a passion for the water and boating, our members continue to welcome people new to boating as well as those with experience. We teach and practice safe boating techniques by offering classes in all phases of boating. Our public boating classess meet the safe boating education requirements of both Indiana and Michigan, as well as most other states.

Membership is open to anyone with an interest in boating. Members can take classes in Seamanship, Piloting, Advanced Piloting, Junior Navigation, and Navigation, and elective courses in Weather, Cruise Planning, Engine Maintenance, Sail, and Marine Electronics. We also offer short courses on a variety of subjects.

Come join us at one of our meetings. The meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Call 574-232-2307 for time and location. We would enjoy the opportunity to meet you and explain who we are and what we do. I hope to see you soon.
